Default Forgot to grease the throw out bearing....

As the title states, I forgot to grease the inside of my new throw out bearing.

I did grease the splines, fork, and the area behind the spline (where the throwout bearing slides on).

The car drives great! But me figuring this out now and looking back at it, I don’t want it to be an issue early on down the road.

So, is it necessary to grease the throw out bearing? Or will I be fine?

It will probably be fine for a while, but then as the small amount of grease on the release bearing guide starts to wear out it will feel worse and worse.
Sooner or later you will need to go back in there and correct it.

All right. Looks like I’m gonna have some fun again! Sucks but gonna have to get it done.

Fortunately, the bolts will be giving me an easier time. May as well to a DIY guide with pictures for myself as reference.

Besides the inner groove of the throwout bearing, spline, throwout bearing guide, and clutch fork, is there anywhere else that I MUST grease up?

Those are the spots and make sure to use the Honda super urea grease.
The slave cylinder ball needs some grease as well but that is outside the tranny and I guess you got that covered

Inside of the throwout bearing, as in where the fork rides or where it slides on the shaft? That is totally unnecessary to drop the trans to put grease on that. If you greased the sleeve that the bearing rides on, it will be completely fine. If you are worried about grease on the part where the fork rides(you shouldn't be) you can pull the rubber boot off the side of the trans, pull the fork back with the trans still in place and put some grease on the fingers.

Hey, just wanted to ask you how long the job took you the first time around?

Cheers.

Lmao. Man....first time took me roughly 8 days to do. A lot of hiccups. Got stuck many nights and would have to hold it off until I got the necessary tools or new bolts for the next step.

You just need to make sure you have all the tools you’ll need and you’ll be fine.

So when I did my second time around just to grease my throwout bearing, it took me just one full day to finish. I felt like a professional mechanic the second time around lmao.

If you’d like some tips, message me.
