It makes the car faster. Car can accelerate faster into the powerband. The faster we can get out of the 2krpm range the better. Also one can add say 2 degrees of timing from o to 1500rpm and offset any loss of inertial momentum built up torque. Just trying to help y'all. The concern is will I stall the car with a lighter flywheel. Answer is no. You will get a more direct, connected, linear feel for the engine as you let out the clutch. Again a lightweight flywheel AND more ignition timing is something I've rarely ever heard recommended but try it and you will laugh Everytime you take off from a stop.


Also the engine will rev down alot quicker after full throttle which is good because the less time you keep it up in the absolute rpm rev band the better! Look how quickly mine revs down (ACT prolite FW)and this was before I tuned fuel cut after full throttle off:
