Fluid Recommendations
Hi everyone...
I will be changing ALL of my fluids pretty soon. My car could use it since it's been a little while, and it's been sitting for too long of a time. I am also installing a new clutch and Comptech flywheel, as well as 4.44 final gear - so another reason to figure on just changing all of the fluids.
The car is 35,000 miles young, and she's a 2001. I also live in Seattle, where the climate is moderate between 50 and 80 degrees for the most part.
What would be the best transmission fluid? Redline MTL?
What would be the best engine oil? Royal Purple? Mobil1?
What would be the best differential fluid? Whatever is recommended on the HTG/Rick's site?
Thanks a lot. Looking for the best all-around stuff - smooth operation, preservation, etc.

hey WyattH,
I live in Oregon and I got my Amsoil 75w 90 diff fluid at GI Joe. As for engine oil I have been using Mobil 1 for years without any problems but if you prefer Amsoil oil then you could buy them at GI Joe too. As for GM synchromesh tranny fluid I bought them at GM dealer on Canyon road Beaveron Or.

Ahh, Ill probably get Redline tranny, Amsoil engine and diff.
I was just wondering between MTL (I think that's what it was) and the MT-90 for my climate, and if I should also stick with 5w30 (nonsynthetic) engine oil.
I'll check out my local GI Joe! Hey, come to the PDX meet on Feb 12th!

Transmission - Redline MT-90 (2 Bottles)
Engine - Valvoline SynPower 30w10 (1 case of 6 bottles)
Differential - LE607 (1 Bottle)
I got the Redline and LE from gofastlab.com and the valvoline from a Shucks.
If you need help, I have a pump for the changes too I did it all last year.

I go with:
Tranny: GM Synchromesh Friction modified, or Honda MTF.
Engine: Mobil-1 10w30 full synth. Good oil, and $23 including tax for a 5qt jug at walmart.
Diff: Mobil-1 75w90, or LE-607 if its not cold out.
