Fluid leak - Rear main seal

Fluid leak - Rear main seal
I have a 2005 with about 47,000 miles on it and I noticed a small pool of fluid (oil and transmission?) under the car a few days ago. The location of the fluid is very close to the area where a rear main seal leak would occur. The rear main seal was replace at 30,000 miles in September 2008 by my local Honda dealer. What are the chances it is leaking again? If it is the rear main seal, I am sure the Dealer will not fix it for free so I want to go to an aftermarket shop. The car is in garaged in Northern Virginia. Anybody have a recommendation for a good shop to investigate the issue and replace it if it is the rear main seal?

Not sure why they replaced it at 30K. I've seen older S2000 RMS's last well over 150K miles with no leaks. They are a high quality seal. If it is indeed leaking, it is due to installation error. Possibly they damaged the crankshaft when trying to pry out the old one, if they weren't being careful, or were complacent while driving it in and damaged one of the seal lips. Either way, you're beyond warranty for the part/labor so Honda will be of no use. I would first do a dye test to make sure it is engine oil. (dump some UV dye made for engine oil in your car and drive it for a week or so. Park it and inspect with a blacklight.) If the oil fluoresces then it's clearly coming from the engine, you may find that its coming from a completely different location though and running down, so inspect all over. If there is no fluorescing, then it's tranny fluid and is more than likely the input seal which would normally only be caused by over-filling the tranny at that low of mileage. Good luck and post back up when you get things sorted.
