Floor Jack Maintenance?
I've had an "aluminum racing jack" from Harbor Freight that I've been using for a few years now. Just this weekend the lifting arm stopped retracting on it's own (If I step on it the arm will go down). Has anyone experienced this? Is there a place to get floor jacks serviced?
Thanks for any help.

well, id point out that its from harbor freight... i use alot of stuff there, most of it is sh*t that breaks, but their lifetime warranty keeps me stocked... just the occasional trip down there for a replacement socket, or wrench, etc... id say just re-grease it, check the spring, and go back to work

Exact same thing happened to the POS one i got from Sams Club. A Roush Racing one. But I waiting to long...I waited until even standing on it wouldn't retract it, so it got permantly stuck raising my car up.
I had to borrow someone else's car to go buy a new jack to get my car down off that one.

My hf jack does the same thing. I lubes the joints without any change. Im going to put more jack oil into it and air our the bubbles next to see if that works. Didn't know it had a lifetime warranty. I may just do the exhange. I wonder how that works without a receipt...
