Default Flat tire woes

I have a (not-so) slow leak in my rear left tire. I only drive about once a week these days, and all was well last week, but yesterday I discovered my tire to be totally flat. I filled it up to 32PSI with a 12v compressor at about 6PM yesterday and it was back to 11PSI by 11AM this morning. I can't see any visible punctures. Obviously I need to replace the tire, and both rears are quite worn, so I'll replace both at a time, but my welfare check is a little late this month and I can't replace the tire until the end of the week at the earliest. I just went on a really expensive vacation and went way overbudget

I have some dunlop tire sealant that I'm hesitant to use because I don't want my Fikse FM-10s getting all gummed up, and I'm not sure if it's safe to let the car sit on that stuff for several days at a time.

If the tire goes totally flat and the car's not being driven, is it bad for the wheel? Should I be doing something about this ASAP?

why not put the spare in the meantime? Sounds like a rim, valve or tire bead leak....get a spray bottle and put some soap and water into it. Spray the tire with soap and water. All around the bead, the tire valve etc....where it bubbles is where it leaks.

yeah, dont use the tire sealant if possible...it makes a big mess

It's not going to bend the wheel.

Put it up on the jack stand with very slight elevation if you aren't going to use it until that government check comes in......

Thanks for the tips

I don't have a spare tire, the previous owner still has it I think...

I'll put the jack on a little to alleviate the weight and go check it out with a spray bottle /w soapy water.

Get it! It belongs with the car.
But it won't fit at the rear.
Did you get an owners manual?
(maybe in the secret compartment, the spare might be there too )

get a flat tire repair kit if it's just a hole. those sprays will make your tire fall apart from the inside out fast< especially on a worn tire

FYI
I had a flat, in rear tire, about 90 mi. from home. Sunday, small town, not able to replace tire with like size tire. 2 Ugly nails. Disgusting. Friends had some Fix-A-Flat and we inflated the tire with about 35 lbs. of air. I drove home. For the next 4 days NO AIR loss. NONE. By that time, since both rear tires were worn I replaced them.
Moral of story:

1. Fix - A - Flat works.

2. No wheel damage from chemicals in can.

3. Good friends are priceless.

4. Dont leave home without FIX-A-FLAT

I used that on a tire that was worn too. When I drove the car a few days later to have the tire replaced it had desolved from the inside out and to my suprize the belt was hanging out and i was very close to having a serious failure.

That being said. This is what I keep in all my cars now

That sounds more like damage from driving on a flat than from the chemicals to me...

Anyways, it's snowing out and I have no winter tires, so I'm letting the tire go flat for now. Let's hope it doesn't bend my wheel at all.

I went at it with a spray bottle of soapy water and couldn't find anything.
