Fix Your Headlights Thread
This is the official headlight thread, since after doing some searching theres information scattered everywhere.
Heres my question :
Just got home and my driverside headlights are out (high/low beams don't work, but running light and turn signals do)
Right now Ive checked:
1) fuses
2) relays
3) cut/mangled wiring
4) hid ballast/bulbs
Sort of stumped because I'm new to s2k wiring etc. Can anyone else throw some insight?
I will check more tomorrow and bring out my multimeter and try to diagnose. I'm hoping someone else has gone through this so I can save some time trouble shooting!
If you have any questions or can help people out, then feel free to post.

it is not overly complex at all. But watch out for the HID to bulb voltage, it is really HIGH (20K volts for something crazy like that). The connector on the car side is low voltage (12+). Both the high beam and headlight are on separate connectors.
You sold purchase a Helms manual if you plan to work on this car at all. It is will worth the 70-80 you spend in the first year easy. It has basic wiring and troubleshooting as well for common issues. The Electronic Troubleshooting manual (ETM) will tell you where ever wire goes, connector by connector. Worth having when tracing an electrical issue

Last time I saw an s2k HID that was not working, water was bridging the printed circuit inside the ballast.
Took the ballast cover off, dried it with compressed air, been great ever since (3 yrs ago)
Search. I have a few posts on how to seal the ballast, and how the water enters it.
