First Oil Change
I saw the two newer threads about oil changes but none addressed my questions. Two things mainly. She's got about 4500 on the odo and I've been keeping her full on Castrol GTX. They want $28 to do it at the dealer so I'd just rather be "thrifty" and do it myself. There's been mention here & by the dealer svc. dept. of proper "torqueing" of the filter. How tight without an oil filter torqueing device? In your experiences, are there name brand filters relatively available (Fram etc.) for the Stook? If so would you please post their brand and part #. Many Thanks!

The Honda oil filter has numbers on the canister. Instructions are to turn the filter 7/8 turn; use the 8 numbers to guide you if you are not using a torque wrench. I find I cannot turn the filter tight enough by hand and use a wrench to get the filter tight enough, i.e. to specification.

JTS2K2001, here's a link to an article that Todd Marcucci put together. It's very interesting: http://www.ntpog.org/reviews/filters/filters.shtml
