FIPK Install - Now Idling Weird
I just installed my fipk today and went for a drive afterwards. When slowing down to a stop the engine stutters between 100-500 rpm before the idle goes back to normal. I went on a pretty long drive to give the ecu some time to figure things out but the problem didnt go away.
For those with intake, did you have to reset the ecu after install for things to work normally?

it won't hurt.
also make sure you routed the vacuum lines right.
you should also knock the map sensor (the plug above the throttle body) with a mallett or the end of your screwdriver handle.

Normal Do Nothing!!!!!!
Your car has a system known as OBD-II (On Board Diagnostics). This system looks at two parameters; short term fuel trim (STFT) and long term fuel trim (LTFT). Right now your system shows an imbalance between the two and so is lean (i.e your system now has more air available). Over time (about 40 warm up cycles) your car will learn what its new needs are. The long term fuel trim will then provide enough fuel at start up and run. If you would like to learn more about this system (and pre-1996 OBD-I as well) I would recommend a book by Ralph Birnbaum "Getting to know OBD-II". There are tons of people around this and other boards that believe tapping the MAP sensor has fixed their car when in reality the car has fixed itself. Please note that the S2000 did have a MAP sensor issue at one time which has only made the tap fix seem that more plausible.
Utah
P.S. "I went on a pretty long drive to give the ecu some time to figure things out". Time is irrelevant to OBD-II, it works on cycles. If it bothers you that much..warm up the car and cool it down 40 times. But no harm will come oif you just let it occur naturally

I would check you wired up the little air solenoid correctly. Its very easy to connect the hoses on the wrong way round!
I dont know of many people who have had this prob after a filter install, unless a pipe was wrong or loose. The new filter wont be letting much more air in at all at idle.

If thats fine then let the ECU re-learn the idle, there's a procedure for its somewhere on here.

Thanks guys. I did the 'map whack' and reset the ecu and it is still idling weird. I have already rechecked the hoses to make sure everything was done right, so I'll just wait for the ecu to do its job like utah and wisconsin said. Thanks for the help. (I may be back if its still doing it after ~40 cycles though)
