Default finished installing HKS Hi-power on MY07

After countless searching and searching, I decided to go with the HKS Hi-power for my '07 S.
I bought the exhaust from Invision ( great customer service, great price! ) and received the package 4 days later (shipped from CA to MI, and there was a weekend in between.)

What you will need to install;
10mm / 14mm socket
wrench,
break-bar,
pry bar - something you could use for prying the hangers out.
silicone spray (liquid wrench) - this is a must. it'll make your life easier.

Removing the stock exhaust was VERY easy.

but then, my car is only 4 months old, so it SHOULD be easy
I was surprised how heavy the stock exhaust was.

I heard from one member that some modification is necessary to fit the HKS on MY06+, but I haven't done any, and it seems to fit pretty good.

I did use the stock hangers for the canister.

The sound was a lot deeper than I expected. There was a lot of bass below 3k rpm, and after that it DID sound like a 350Z.
My buddy said it sounds somewhat like a 350z, but sounds more aggressive.
I'm not sure if I can even call it a drone, but there are some drone-like sound(not noise) around 3k-3.5k but nothing annoying.
But then again, I just installed it yesterday and I'm still smelling the coat burning from the exhaust, so I'll let you all know how it turns out after it's fully broken-in.

Overall, I'm very happy with the new exhaust.

I was interested in the TODA hi flow cat, but I don't know if they're available yet.
I don't want my car to smell like $h*t

Nice writeup. Think you could get some sound clips in a week or two once it gets broken in?

I've been thinking about this exhaust myself. One thing I've always disliked about 4 cylinders with exhausts, is a bad or annoying exhaust note.
Is the "possible drone" only apparent in a high gear at around 3-3.5k RPM's ? Is it worse with the top up ?

Any idea what the true inner diameter of the exhaust piping is ? 63.5mm, 63mm, 65mm

The exhaust is not broken in yet, so I'll probably give it a couple weeks to see how the sound changes.
I will try to get a sound clip but with the crappy digital camera I have, I doubt that I could record the real sound.

And the drone-like sound that I described is there regardless of what gear I use.
I think the description "drone-like sound" is misleading.
I should say it's a deep base exhaust note instead of drone.
and that sound doesn't seem to change whether the top is up or down.

what is the size before and after the split? I have an SC and trying to find a dual exhaust that isn't as loud as Sparrow that adds flow...

I would be curious as to how the sound/loudness compares to the sparrow as well. I have ridden in a friends AP2 with the sparrow (63mm I believe). Also, which diameter sparrow do you have ?
