A few questions about buying a S2000 w/ mods
Hey guys, this is my first time here. I have always liked the S2000 and that I have found one forr the right price with some nice upgrades, it might be the time to purchase it. I know this is a hard question to answer, but what do you think the performance numbers are on it (0-60, 1/4 mile, hp rating). I just thought someone with the same or similar mods might know. Here are the specs:
-2000 S2000 with 25K miles
-Vortech supercharger w/intercooler & aftercooler.
-VeilSide full body kit w/carbon wing.
-RacingHart CR multi-piece with Pirelli PZero tires (also, new set SO-3's not mounted yet).
-Eibach Pro spring kit.
-HKS High Power stainless exhaust.
-DC Sport stainless header
-ACT 6 puck clutch
-Fidanza lightweight flywheel
-Complete Stinger audio accessory package
-Stereo includes: JL Audio 12W7 subwoofer, Soundstream Van Gogh amps, Boston Accoustic Pro speakers, Panasonic head unit.
Also, what kind of maintnence will this car needa(asside from if it were stock)?
I would appreciate it if I could get any input. Thanks in advance!

Holy crap. With that ACT 6 puck and the Vortech your 1/4 times would be zero. Zero because you would create diff soup the second you launched that baby. Then, if you had the money to buy a new diff and cryo the housing, etc. you would snap your axles. After the axles you might break a few more little things but likely be in deep 13s. There is really no way to tell though. (I only posted because I have broken all this stuff and more...you see, I like to run 1/4s too )

OMG! kMfromLA That was funny. But he is right. I have done the same thing. I have spent BIG money on drive train parts, Spoon tranny,Richmond 4.57 gears, two diff. clutches,Comptech reinforced rear end. Now I'm looking at new axles for $1000.00. Buy a SS camaro if you want to do 0-60 and 1/4 mile.

No f.u.c'k.i.n.g way! Do not buy a different car. You CAN in fact run 1/4s in a Honda S2000 and be very fast. I smash on SS Camaros all day long. It just takes ALL your time and ALL your money. Someday soon I will prove this fact to all S2000 owners on the board. (Assuming of course that my car can make it down then track without bursting into flames…again…) And don't forget, build that rear end!

I just wanted to know how my car performed compared to other cars. I have no plans to ever race this car. I will be driving it a few days of the week, do you think this car will be hard to maintain? Thanks for the replies.

Is there any other clutch and flywheel that would work good together, or should I go back to stock? What do you think? Also, what will I have to do to maintain the supercharger? Thanks!

I don't have an SC myself, so I don't know what kind of "regular" maintenance they require, aside from checking that all the bolts, mounts, oil fittings, and belt are tight. The local Vortech owner that I knew had problems with his brackets, bearings, and seals.
I think the most common clutch combo for street driven SC'ed cars is the Heavy Duty ACT pressure plate and OEM clutch disk.
