faulty fuel gauge/sensor.........
#11
wow 6 years apart since last post. Anyway,
@Dizzymon
And yeah, MY06 has a faulty one too I think... Sometimes the same bar takes longer to drop on other times... This led to me not trusting my car anymore and rather depend on the amount of days/miles I do the driving... it's sad
And what's more? Just today, I was driving back home and had 3 bars left. Then all of a sudden, I'm not sure if this happened all at once or not, but approximately 3 minutes since the last glance, my bars had dropped to 0 and my gas light came on...
Is this problem common for 06? Do I need to replace the gas sensor or have a mechanic clean it?

after reading all of this im beginning to think our gauges arent very accurate. i filled my tank up and went almost 70 miles before my first bar dropped then 20 miles later 2 droped.i had a four hour trip all interstate every thing was fine till i got to the last 2 bars and they both dropped after 20 miles. with no bars left and the fuel light blairing i pulled to the next exit and got gas but it onlly needed 10.7 gallons to fill up. wtf?

Resurrecting this thread....
How do i know how much gas i have left in the tank if the gauge isnt accurate due to the filter/float issue?
If i am filling up a tank at the gas station and the fuel pump stops automatically, does that mean i have a FULL tank?
when i was at the gas station, the pump stopped with around 5gallons pumped. I already had ~ 1/4 tank of gas according to my gauge. When i started the car, the gauge only showed 3/4 full.
