Default Faint Squeaking sound

I have no idea where this is coming from. It's a very faint squeaking sound that happens every time I go over any little bump. Basically anything that rattles the car a bit. It's fairly subtle though and I can only hear it at lower speeds (below 50mph) as the road and wind noise drown it out. I think its coming from the front. It seems to be getting slowly louder.

Car is a MY00, 113k Miles. Stock suspension (for now).

Top strut bushings, spray them with some penetrating oil and see if it stops.

Probably best to use some silicon paste but that will require removing the whole strut.

I have the same problem with mMY02, stock suspension. I'll stray some oil on it like that other guy recommended. If you do it and it goes away before I do, let me know.

I used pb blast, anything with an oily consisntancy will work. Its probably only a temp fix, so far mines been fine for over 2 months.

Reapply some multipurpose grease on the hood latch as well as the hook. Had the same issue with my car (faint squeak when going over bumps)

Let us know if that works for you; so that other s2k owners who are experiencing the same or similar type of problem can see what the possible causes and fixes are. Getting the problem fixed and not coming back to report the cause won't help the community.

Wd40 on the suspension components seem to have stopped the squeaking. Thanks to everyone here.

Good to hear, just remember I am not sure its a permanent thing. When next winter hits the noise may be back. Once that wd40 washes out and the bushings dry up again it will be back. Best bet is removing the shock and using a paste silicon. Such as 3m Silicon past. Something that wont wash out as easy.

i had a similar noise, kind of like a chirping noise. i messed with the hood latch alignment and also made sure the rubber bump stops were set to the right height and the noise went away. was def. the hood being a little loose and moving around when driving over bumps.

Well the noise came back. So much for that.
