*edit above post*
If I removed my clutch, I'm sure that it would look brand new. My car has 23k hard miles on it
At least 75% of all the miles on my car have been spent going up and down through the rev range and gears in one canyon or mountain or another in the middle of the night along with some memorable group drives in the Bay Area going through the Santa Cruz mountains, and a few track days.

IMO, all the CDV is, is a one way valve that limits the ingoing speed of the clutch slave cylinder.
I guess one could mimic that speed limit with one's left leg.
No?
If you lift the clutch pedal at the same speed as the CDV would allow the slave to be pushed back by the fork/PP... you have a manual CDV..right?
A Honda CDV would be more constant.. agreed

What is was trying to say is that a CDV is just a slave speed restriction.
Its not computer controlled, like ABS or the new throttle by wire.
Clutch / throttle timing is still important, with or without CDV.
With a CDV you're taking one varaible out of the equation: clutch engagement.
I guess one could adjust clutch engagement by changing the friction disk or PP or both.
Now you have to match the throttle to the CDV and you're done.
IMO, to make the S2000 accelerate fast wheelspin is necessary.
The F20/F22 has low torque @ low revs.
To get into the powerband from the start one needs to start with high revs & no speed = clutch dump & wheel spin.
No?
IMO shifting while racing is about being smooth, as is everything while racing.
No wheelspin, no slippin' & slidin', no sudden weightshift (revmatching), no sudden steering actions no sudden braking.
