So, proper tuning and upgrading the pistons and rods is basically what will make the F22 more reliable at 9K rev's?

Are there any differences between the F20C head and the F22C head that might make it more sencitive to revs? (valve springs, retainers, etc.)

No the heads are, for all intents and purposes, identical.

Cams are different. Haven't checked springs.

I would figure that if anything, the springs would be softer since the redline was lower, but I figured the cams would be more agressive due to the larger displacement (which might require stiffer springs)...

Here's what Honda says about the new cams: (from http://www.hondanews.com/CatID2069?mid=200...41254&mime=asc)

VTEC (low-speed profile):
Low-speed intake duration decreased and exhaust duration increased for more torque.

VTEC (high-speed profile)
High-speed intake and exhaust duration slightly decreased for torque and top horsepower

So the head is the same but the cams and possibly the springs are differnet.
Very interesting indeed.

It would make since that Honda would use softer valve springs on an engine that wasn't intended to rev as high due to the reduced load.

I wonder if the cams (and valve springs) from the F20C would be better on the F22C if the rev limit was higher.
