I sure hope you got your decimal point in the wrong place, otherwise that would result in a trashed crankshaft.

And the reason for looser clearances is to allow for distortion of the part under load without having the journal touch the bearing.

I believe they are bearing sizes based on the crank journal dimensions.

The letters are stamped on the block (you can see these from under the car on the exhaust side). The numbers are on the end of the crankshaft. 5 letters and 5 numbers are to select the bearings for the mains. There are also 4 letters on the crank and they correspond with the numbers on the conrods to select bearings for rod journals.
Bore select are stamped on top of the block (you will find them when the head is removed). Those 4 letter determine the bore sizes to select piston sizes. I believe there are only 2 sizes of OEM pistons A and B size.

Thanks Jaymz for the info! I understand the 5 codes stamped on the crank is for the 5 main journals and the four letters (AAAA) crank bore code. The 5 crank bore codes also stamp on the engine block? They are suppose to be the same correct? It is confusing cause your info mention CCCCC and on the crank is 11111.
