i dont get how the f22 would be able to safely rev up to 9k? just cause the tach says 9k is redline doesnt mean that the engine itself can handle that much. or do ap2's rev up to 9k as well, just that they have no power from 8k to 9k?

most ap2's don't rev to 9k, there are some ap2's in other countries that still have the f20 and rev to 9. The F22 can handle 9k! I've had this swap for over 2 years now. There are many people running this swap safely with no problems. Honda doesn't rev the f22 to 9 for the safety of the motor. When the s2000 first hit the market honda did lots of motors under warranty due to overrevs. Lowering the redline on ap2's keeps the motor well within its limits. The f22 doesn't make anymore power between 8k and 9k than the f20, but it doesnt make any less. This is a comparison dyno of an f20 vs f22 to 9k. The powerbands are almost identical.

You could use the 02 ECU but it will run more on the lean side. The 00-01 ECU run richer.

Is there a problem running on lean for a long period of time. Has anyone reported long term damages.

Sorry Big Bird. Dont want to thread/jack.
My last couple of questions. Where can i get a Vafc system.
If i do decide to run the car before the vafc, can i blow the motor(due to running lean)

side note- s2ki is the most helpful car forum i have been to. thanks to all

U won't blow ur motor unless you stay at 9K rpm all day. Even tho with the leaner ECU it won't hurt the motor on regular driving.

I bought my VAFC on ebay, BNIB for about $100 dollars less than other stores are selling them. That is where i recommend you get one, just make sure its an ebay store.
