Default F20c mixed F22c engine problems

Ok. so i have an F22c engine block in my 03'
initially i also had the F22c cylinder head on it as well, but an F20c intake manifold.
Car ran good. angine was very powerful but wouldnt rev past 8 grand, and went into limp mode.

So i replaced the cylinder head with an 03 head. now i have the F22c block. and everything else is F20c.

Problem is still there. i am wondering if all i need to do is swap my ecu to an AP2 ecu?

Did that produce a CEL?

Someone chime in on this please. I really dont want to have any issues after I put this in my car. My build is pretty similar.

I just finished building my 07 f22 block, 02 f20 head. Pullin the 02 ecu and putting kpro in.

To the OP we need more information. I ran AP2 engine in my AP1 with a AP1 ecu and it worked fine and revved to 9k. Only difference between the ap1 and ap2 heads are the cams and the retainers.

ok. so i have the AP2 block on and orginally teh Ap2 head as well wiht Ap1 exhaust and intake manifolds. CEL turned on every time at 8 grand.

code was crank sensor. the computer diognosis also showed now irregularities in teh wavelengths and frequencies all the way to redline. but car still shutting down into limp mode?

so we put the AP1 head back on making everything AP1 except for the block. CEL still goes on at 8 grand and enters limp mode. i turn the car off and back on and it goes off

have had 4 mechanics lok at it and cant figurew it out becuz they are seeing no mechanical errors at all. but it still messes up so they think i need an AP2 ecu.

i hav eno idea

the intake manifold air flow holes are different in Ap1 and Ap2 connecting to the head. the mechanics showed me the blueprint of the difference in heads. air flow was messing up, so on went the 03 head since i already had that. airflow problem fixed, yet car still messing up even though all tests and come back as the engine having no mechanical problems????
