Schwett, I put this question to Todd at Speedcraft and -- assuming that I understood his answer correctly -- he says that the answer to this is "no". He says that the inline pump supplied with the turbo kit doesn't add any fuel in a vacuum beyond what's normally provided. But they've never measured the fuel pressure with and without the upgraded pump.

The Speedcraft kit comes with an inline fuel pump that serves (if I understand this correctly -- and I may not!) *only* to increase the amount of fuel available. Actual fuel pressure is then regulated by the Vortech Fuel Management Unit. The Vortech FMU (I'm told by Todd at Speedcraft) increases fuel as a linear function of boost. No boost, no increase in fuel pressure over the stock setup (which is what I understood Schwett was asking). Or at least so says Todd. But Todd hasn't actually checked the fuel pressure at idle to know for sure.

Latest update (of the no-news variety)... my car's not going to return from the bodyshop until late next week, but I'll keep you all posted as soon I have the chance to fuss with Gile's settings (and RT's old VC2 electronic check valve). Thanks for standing by.

one additional note : many FMUs (i've personally used a couple) DO increase the pressure at all times depending on their settings. while a rising rate FMU doesn't really "rise" until it sees positive pressure, it has internal restrictions which are affected by where the baseline is set.

i have never been able to self-tune an FMU'd FI honda without an in-cockpit fuel gauge. it's invaluable......
