Default Exhaust Woody

I am guessing that the pertrusion sticking out of my exhaust pipe a foot or so behing the cat is a resonating tube....can anyone clarify this? Is there a real purpose for it?

I thought it was really weird.

Another question...is the gear like objects on the hubs for the ABS? And, the small black box on the driver side, in front of the rear wheel...is that the fuel pump? Or is that how Honda finds out how fast someone was going when the wreck?

Just wondering, had the car on the rack and those things caught my eye.

The "protruding" pipe is there to "tune" the exhaust sound.
The teeth on the hub is for the ABS. That's how the sensor can tell how fast the wheel is turning.
The small black box (with a criss cross design on it) is for fuel vapor retrieval (condensor). It's part of the fuel return system.
