Sorry to bring up a post from December of 03, but there is just litle to no info that I can find on this subject.
for a supercharged car u dont want an exhaust with a huge diameter, most ppl often think that but it is not true. anything with a 2.25 to 2.50 inch diameter will do, the difference will be in the amount of noise. the bigger the exhaust the less back pressure, and since the supercharger makes most power in the higher rpm range, u will want some back pressure for low end. any stainless stell system will do the job, it all depends on ur budget
Do you guys agree with this. if this statement is true then, the stock exhaust should be fine being that stock diameter is 2.3" or 60 mm.

Supercharged guys, what are your opinions, is the stock exhaust to restrictive for a SC?

I would figure it would be the exact opposite. You want less back pressure because the SC is pushing more compressed air through the engine, it will push more exhaust gasses through the exhaust therefore the necessity for a larger exhaust pushing more gasses out, and decreasing the back pressure (backpressure causes loss of hp). I would understand your thinking on a turbo as it's spool might be attached to the back pressure, but the SC is driven by the engine and hence backpressure would be a negative.

Take a look at the Fujitsubo exhaust. A few people who have had them rave about it, and I think the price is around $750-$800 retail. Looks nice, and sounds a little bit better than stock.

It's amusingly simple, get the lightest one. Any of the all Ti will fit the bill. It's nice to take off more weight than the supercharger added just by swapping the exhaust. I picked up a steel straight pipe and it weighs in at 9 lbs., more than some whole exhaust systems. Anyone know of Ti testpipes? I priced one out at the local stainless header shop that does Ti and they wanted $1000 for a Ti testpipe. Someone must make these things commercially.

I'm curious, do you guys install the exhaust yourself or have the shop do the installation for you?
