Uuum I thought you couldn't gap iridium plugs? They are gapped at whatever nrg' s come with out of the box. Yes the plugs are torqued properly. How would spark plug torque do this? And there are 97,000 miles on MY03

There is always the chance of a plug getting dropped, etc. Iridiums were never oem equipment please explain to me how they would be gapped properly? How would spark plug torque do this? not enough torque will not seal properly creating a lean condition. double check your work and dont assume anything

On a side note. Dont buy a torque wrench from harbor freight, i noticed that it was going too tight and still didn't click so i stopped tightening the plug. And put the extension in a c-clamp and pulled on the torque wrench as hard as i could and it never clicked. That was almost a disaster. Just glad i noticed something was up. Thanks again guys

You better up your spark plug torque to 24ft-lbs, or they are going to back out.
Trust me on this one
Was your torque wrench 1/2 drive? If so, the torque wrench is not the problem.
NO torque wrench should be used in its low range settings.
If the torque range starts at 20 ft pounds, you cannot click it down 2 and use it to put a spark plug to 18 ft pounds.

Ive had a plug loosen up on me at 18lb before. I upped to 20lb and have never had the issue again, and its been years. It is an aluminum head which is easy to over trq and strip, so I always get weary upping the trq too much. I'd say anywhere between 20-24 is fine, but I wouldn't go any higher. Shouldn't need to.
