Default exhaust popping at WOT

Alright so whenever im in WOT there is a popping noise coming.out of my exhaust (t1r 70mm single) and it seems to be down on power a bit, like its misfiring.. Oil level is good, oil is at 2k miles, oil pressure is good, i have exhaust and comptech intake. Thats it. I tried the map whack, didn't help. Valves are pretty loud around 5k rpm. Not sure if i need a valve adjustment. And sometimes it hesitates right before vtec. No cel light has ever came on. And the car revs to 9k just fine. And my car burns less oil then the typical ap1 (less then a quart per 4k oil changes) so i assume the motors healthy. This has all came on gradually and seems to be getting worse. O and has new plugs less than 2k miles ago. Any places to suggest to start looking?

Thanks, Ryan

Is the popping @ WOT in any RPM range or just high?

Sounds a bit like ignition breakup. Did you do a 'once over' on the rest of the ignition system when you replaced plugs? Clean revs without load can be deceiving.

I would take a glance at the plugs and although you haven't had a CEL pop try to see if everything looks consistent across all cylinders. If not, you will have your next best lead.

How's the condition of the plugs? It definitely sounds like an ignition problem.

Ignition also came to mind. What plugs? Gap? Torque?

it is usually created by unburned fuel igniting in the exhaust stream, so maybe ignition related like mentioned above or running excessively rich.

What are they gapped at? Are the plugs torqued down properly? How many miles on the car?
