Exhaust gasket
If I remove my stock Cat Back exhaust on my 2001 S2000, can I expect to reuse the gasket upon reinstallation or should I buy another?

I'm pretty sure you can reuse it, but I'll find out for sure tomorrow and post... I just wanted to post because no-one else was! OH... Hi Doug! Thanks again for your support in Topeka. I hope all is well for you. Will we see you in BS or ES next year?

I was surprised no one posted as well, figured someone installed their cat back exhaust by themselves...guess not! None of the local dealers have a gasket in stock and it will take a few days to get one. I will reuse the one I have, and order another if necessary. I took a quick look under the car last night. It looks as though I will have to remove a cross brace that runs between the left and right suspension. There is a black box attached to the driver side of this crossmember. Will I run into any trouble just unbolting this and pulling the crossmember out since the exhaust is one piece from the cat back?
As for racing, I will still be running the MR2 next year. I am having too much fun with the S2000 as a daily driver...although I don't know if I can bring myself to putting ES on the side of my car

Also, Doug, the manifold gasket is reusable, as well.

Thanks for the info guys...I always hate to start a project and realize half way through that I need another part that takes 3 days to get my hands on.
So will I have to remove the small cross brace that runs under the exhaust near the diff or can the exhaust be wiggled out without removing it?

Found a good deal, for me and current owner of a RM Racing exhaust. I am just looking for something that makes a good bit more noise than the stock one. I am used to an MR2 sans exhaust and motorcycles with aftermarket pipes (maybe I am just going deaf). He is stopping by tonight and if I decide like the exhaust, I will be swapping my stock one onto his car. So just wanted to make sure I would not run into a stumbling blocks.
Thanks

No, it's very straightforward...it won't take you any time at all since it sounds like you are a car guy.
Also, you definitely picked an exhaust that is a "bit" louder than stock! It's one of the loudest dual outlets on the market...!
