Default excessive vibration above 75mph

well since my s2 (this is my second one) i noticed that it vibrates more than usual around 75. i took it above 100 the other day and realized that it gets alot worse around there and am not sure what the cause is. so far i checked the tire pressure and made everything equal, and i also tightened my lugnuts. both these things didnt help at all. im not on stock wheels which maybe plays a role in this vibration i have 18 inch rims that are 1 inch wider in the back(dont know if that matters). i bought them as a tire/wheel package so they came mounted and balanced so i dont beleive the wheel balance is off. also this vibration takes place when just cruising at the particular speed not when im accelerating or slowing down simply when i reach 75+ is only gets worse. the vibration kind of sounds like boards shaking? thats probably a bad description but i dont know how else to describe it. also it sounds like its coming more from the passanger side of my car in the middle or rear. im not sure if its just the soft top or something with the suspension maybe? somebody help please?

Still sounds like a balance issue to me even though they said they were. I would take them into a tire place and have them check for that and to see if maybe one of them is bent.

Put the stock wheels back on and see if it still vibrates.

How could the alignment affect the vibrations?

I have the same problem, except that I have it from 75 to 80 mph. At speeds >80mph it does not vibrate as badly.

It does it when accelerating, cruising and rolling in neutral.

I drove it with 2 different sets of wheels and the issue happened in both events.

The whole car shakes, including the pillars: I doubt it's the alignment itself (even if it is due). I have installed the driveshaft spacers in the hope to stop it but no, nothing. My AP2 has 40k miles, on koni-ground control.

If you can help me I will send you a 6 packs of beer to your address.

I have the same issue and I know it is due to my wheels being out of balance. Your wheels may not have been properly balanced or they could have thrown a weight since being balanced. If the wheels were used, they could be out of round orbent to where balancing is more difficult to get perfect. I would suggest getting them balanced.
