modifry's rev counter must not be very accurate.

the rev limiter in all AP1s is below 9k. I've looked too, with data acqusition.

Tho my car revs to 9300

I'll let Modifry address your comments, but I'd like to know how a digital divide-by-N counter can be inaccurate?

Any measurement device can be inaccurate. Trust me on that one.

Of course, but a divide-by-N counter, with a good digital trigger, that produces consistent results, isn't highly suspect.

Mike, do you now if anyone has captured a raw data log of the tach pulses. The beeper appears to be dead on with the tach, so if there is an error it must be in the tack trigger itself, rather than the beeper.

My datalogger (G2X) taps in to the same pulses. I don't think it logs the raw pulses, though.

The G2X shows RPM down to the 10^0 place rather than the 10^2 place of the dash display or the Modifry unit, and writes the result four times per second to the data file.

I don't know for sure that it is accurate down to the exact RPM, but it's probably accurate to the 10^1 place at least.

Do you feel you're being cheated or something? Why do you think I would lie to you?

I did note that on the page (link above) he says that the limiter cuts in at 9,000 RPM, and if that's correct, then the shift beeper memory is reading 100 RPM too high (and I'm sure it's not ).
When it only reads to the nearest 100, accuracy is not likely to be better than +/- 100.

FWIW, the RPM gauge on the tach seems to match the RPM display from the datalogger within +/- one bar on the dash (100 rpm).

Red:
The link works fine.

[QUOTE=modifry,Apr 7 2003, 02:15 PM]Bear in mind the rev limiter is between 8900 and 9000 (yes, your tach reads high too), and if you do the math that is either 165 or 167 in top gear.
