I'm going to replace the intake retainers and keepers with AP2. Question: While I've got the the cams and rollers off, are there any other parts to replace for good measure? Springs, any seals? My engine has 53K miles on it now. I'll be FI by summer.
Thanks
Thanks

AP1 or AP2 retainers?
I wasn't looking for increased durability, I was looking for higher RPM float margin and was willing to pay the price of decreased durability. Number 22 in the periodic table.

Sorry for causing some confusion with my previous answer...
Do you think that the lobe (or 'cam') on the camshaft can actually touch the retainer when the valvestem is sunken into the retainer, thus leaving scratchmarks on the retainer and the lobe?

It can cause scoring, or etching of the cam, in extreme cases.
The first car I found with a broken retainer was the worst. The retainer was so high, it was rubbing on the roller of the rocker. The hardened particles, or dust, etched a groove around the middle of one cam lobe.
Even this car had no noise or symptoms.
