Default Evasive Motorsports Defouler help

I recently installed a new exhaust and like many threads before, my CEL light came on. I knew what needed to be done. I first went to AutoZone and bought the cheap defoulers and drilled them out to 1/2. The CEL light didnt go away after 1000+ miles so I went to evasivemotorsports.com and bought "
T1R O2 Sensor Simulator / CEL Fix - Elbow Design" .
It came in the mail the other day and today I'm having a hell of a time trying to get installed to my Berk HFC.

It almost seems to big. With my exhaust on I'm not able to thread it in place because it's big, bigger than i thought it'd be. It hits everything in site. Is it necessary to uninstall the Berk HFC before threading the angled defouler in? Maybe, with the name T1R O2 Sensor, it's only compatible with the t1r exhaust system? Any help or thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated.

There has to be a reason the autozone trick didn't work I know a lot of other people including myself use it with no issues at all. I would check and mess around with it some more maybe the sensor isn't positioned far enough away to stop the CEL?

The Berk HFC already got a CEL fix built in, have you checked the error code so it's not something else?

I've had it checked a couple times and it's the 420 code. No CEL thrown for the first 300 miles after HFC install. Maybe I goofed the AutoZone trick. I hollowed out both of them so today i picked up a couple more. This time only 1.

For 06+ the p420 codes can come back if you use the autozone defouler trick. I think you need a 90 degree defouler for the 06+'s. I just installed mine and no CEL's so far.

id invest in a flashpro. albeit it, much more expensive than a defouler, but its one of the best mods for the 06+ S2000...you can disable the secondary O2 sensor and never worry about the CEL coming on for a HFC of Test Pipe.
