Since it's a motorswap car, there is no telling what parts of the OEM S2k wiring harness are left. Troubleshooting this online will be pretty difficult, as we don't know how much S2K has been built into your friends car.

Good luck,

Yes those are 2 different cars. Neither is my friends. The red one is the new "R" model and the gold one is the one that was in the One Lap of America last year. The gold one is the most like his.

Notice how the engine is canted over in the red one and the bare frame pic. The engine oil drains out of one side of the head so they tilted the motor to move the weight over towards the passenger compartment and built a special oil pan.

I have been trying to get Brian, the builder, to use the stock fuse box just for these kinds of reasons. They use the stock harness and ecu so why not the fuse box.

This way when someone builds it, instead of letting Brian build it, you never know exactly what they have done on that aspect of the wiring.

A friend with an Ultralite has an intermittant problem that won't let him rev past 7,000 rpm. He has the AP2 engine.

He is getting 3 codes:
P0607
P1298
P1415

He has no air pump so that would explain the P1415.

I have found info on the P1298 but no luck on the P0607.

Anyone have a clue what that one is?
The code P0607 is known as an "ECU Malfunction"... kinda hard to know whats wrong with a definition like that huh.

When I first swapped in my s2000 motor, I couldn't get the motor to go into Vtec, which wouldn't let the engine rev past 7,000. I tracked the problem down to dis-continuity in the VSS circuit. So, I jumped a wire from the dash cluster to the ECU's VSS wire input and it fixed the problem. Not sure if thats what your problem is, but if your motor isn't revving past 7,000, it probably means your Vtec isn't working, and your motor is in some kind of limp mode to protect the engine. If it works sometimes, and not other times.. you may have a poor connection somewhere. Trying to track a problem down like that can be a nightmare.. i should know Good luck!
