Can you explain why it was a nightmare?

Basically, that's a bad ground wire on the torque sensing circuit. It's hard to find where it's broken or shorted when it's inside miles of wire tubing.

Oh, you can't clear an EPS code by pulling the back up fuse. It's a system that is linked to the ECU but a separate component.

found out the shop that installed a supercharger didn't do a good job on some wiring to the ecu.

I have had the EPS light on and off for the longest time...Sometimes I turn the car on, and the eps light is off and I have powersteering...sometimes I turn the car on, eps light is off, but on the highway my steering wheel will start jerking by itself to the left, or right (really weird) and then my eps light will come on. I don't want to take my car to the dealer, because when I went to Honda and told the guy my eps light was on in my S2000, he looked at me and said, "EPS light?"...Lets just say he did not make me feel very comfortable.

I have the s2000 shop manual, but the EPS topic seems to be the most confusing...I wish I could just add some power steering fluid and get rid of the problem....

It's confusing mainly because it involves a lot of checking of connections and electronic/electrical components. It also involves a lot of DTC clearing, which can't be done by the home mechanic as it requires that silly but really expensive PGM tester.
The service manual tells you how to diagnose and fix the problem, but the average guy at home doesn't have the equipment necessary to do much.

To retrieve an SRS, ABS, EPS DTC you will have to take it to a dealer or use the OBD jumper trick. Basically with the car off jump PIN 4 to PIN 9 on your OBDII connector. http://www.k-series.com/tech_detail.php?Tech_ID=CEL . When using this method to pull ABS DTC keep your foot off the brake pedal when turning the ignition to the ON position. When using this method to pull EPS DTC make sure your steering wheel is TDC or 0 degrees and your wheels straight before turning the ignition to the ON position. That's all I know. Good Luck

Yikes, that's kinda scary.

Well the dealer said it was a bad EPS controller. Warranty company covered the fix with a $100 deductable. Part has been ordered and is being installed on Tuesday.

The service manager said quote "the tech reseted the EPS and it may come on again before Tuesday or wont come on at all, just wanted you to be aware of this before we install the new controller"

So there is a way to reset it. Because the light is off and my steering is back. Hopefully it says off till Tuesday.

The dealer does have the necessary equipment to reset that light. I don't think there was any doubt that it could be done, just hard to do at home unless you used the "trick".
