EPS light again...

EPS light again...
I posted a question about the EPS problem in my car a little while ago... I did not take the car in because it seemed to be a one time thing, however recently the EPS light has been coming on and off in between car-starts.
What I am wondering is could this be just a sensor problem, or could it be something a little more serious? Furthermore I called a local Honda Dealership and when I said I was experiencing a problem with the EPS his reactions was,
"EPS?"...."Just bring the car in"...Ya right!!
Anybody with any insight please help!!

I recall that the EPS on this car can be "reset" (can't say what this means exactly, sorry). It's kind of like a calibration. If you have a light show up, there should be a code attached to it. You'll need to find out what the code(s) is and go from there. On the other hand, since it's an intermittent thing, you can also attempt to reset (not the same context as my first "reset") the whole system by disconnecting your negative battery terminal for a few minutes and see what happens. Have you radio code handy as you'll need it to make your OEM HU work again.

Most likely its a power delievery issue. Does the light turn on and off under specific conditions? Say when the car is under load(accel)
When I upgraded the my HU I actually didn't tighten the battery cable down enough, so that while driving the lead popped off the terminal. As a result my car was running strickly on alternator power. This was fine under highway driving but in the city my radio would brown out when accelerating and the EPS light would occasionally come on due to insufficient power. For me connecting the battery cable fixed the issue.
How new is your battery and when specificly does this occur? When cranking the engine? Under accelerating load only? When the radio is on?

I will definetely check the battery...however could the EPS light come on if the alignment is off? I mean when driving the car doesn't pull, but the steering wheel is off center when the car is at a stand still.

My EPS light will come on and the steering will get hard requiring some grunt muscle to take corners. The light will go off after sitting a few minutes with the electricals off and the steering will be great again. It will come on at different times. It's an AP1 - yr 2k S2000. Took it to Honda in College Station, TX and they said three codes came up and they reset it. Less than one week the EPS came back on and has since gone off. No changes to driving style or events. Thought it might be the weather because it's been really wet down here in East Texas but it's happened on dry cool to warm days. Really frustrating especially if I want to go autocrossing. Hasn't come on yet but it could really ruin a good run. Any advice? Any experience with this problem? Thanks
