EPS light
I haven't drive my car since February 2003 AD. Well to no surprise when I tried to start it, the battery was DEAD. So I got a battery charger and got it started. But now the EPS light stays on. What's the deal with that? Is it too late to get some gas stabilser to minimise the damage or should I just run the tank empty and get some fresh primo?
Cheers

Your fuel is only 3-4 months old. Modern day fuels don't go bad that quickly. Just use it up and fuel up again.
As for the EPS light, if it won't go out on its own, then try to reset by pulling the EPS fuse and then the ECU "BACK UP" fuse under the dash. There may be another fuse under the hood but I can't say for sure right now where that is so if the first suggestion doesn't work, then you can try a complete reset by disconnecting the negative battery cable for a minute or so. Have your radio code before doing this.
ps. You didn't sit there and high idle (like over 3000 rpm) for a few minutes, did you? This is one thing that will cause that light to come on.

Your revived battery output voltage may be below the electric power steering threshold at idle. Similar to ABS brakes in many systems (below some battery level the vehicle will run but they will not fuction).
Try trickle charging your battery. If that doesn't fix it, sounds like time for a new battery.
