Had my S2K a year and enjoying every minute of it until New Years Eve when I spun out to avoiding a teenage girl that pulled out without looking. The left front wheel hit a curb on the bottom edge of the rim while going backwards. Didn't jump the curb and only mildly damaged the very edge and not the side of the rim. I told the girl that there was no damage and we didn't need to call the police and ruin her insurance rate for years. The alignment shop said they aligned it and that all cars to not return to going straight when you take your hand off the wheel after making a turn. My 55 Oldsmobile Holiday and every car since then always rights itself so they must only be accustomed to driving something with treads. With the engine off and the front jacked up and holding the tire, the wheel turns easily from lock to the left to about 20 degrees from straight and then is difficult all the way to lock on the right. Hot dog shaped rack. I picked up a new rack at the junk yard as was going to put it on tomorrow but in cleaning it up found a crack in the top side of the boot on the passenger side. Upside down a small amount of water is coming out slowly. The whole assembly has a lot of aluminum and steel corrosion on the outside. I had planned to switch out the torque/position sensor anyway. If I open the boot, it is non-returnable. My question is what are the odds that the junk yard rack is shot? Can the water reach the axial motor?
