You don't have to disconnect the battery to reset the ECU. This will require you to have the radio code and to reprogram all your stations. Pulling the "BACK UP" fuse under the dash will accomplish the same thing without giving your radio an aneurism.
"backup" fuse under the dash. is i just a dissconnect and reconnect thing, or will i have to pull it for a few minutes?

is this true?? i have a cel light on in my01...because i installed a air/fuel ratio meter...does anybody know if it affects the v-tec??? and how do we find out if our v-tec is working properly??( without driving it of course, if its possible..)

Dave, you probably should add the "relearn engine idle" sequence to those instructions. The Helm manual is very specific about doing that procedure after an ECU reset.

Unless you are doing some major ECU wire tapping (like in a F.I. installation), disconnecting the battery is not necessary. To do a regular ECU reset only requires pulling the "BACK UP" fuse for a few seconds.
