Engine ticking, shavings in oil?

I second this. Somebody has had that oil pan off for some reason and did a pretty crazy job applying hondabond.

if it is in fact a knock, you won't hear it under load until it gets worse.

I believe Honda specifies 16 ft/lbs pretty much for all their makes and models. I know it was in a 96-00 civic factory service manual...
