like he said, the cylinder with the scuffed bore would have a higher compression. not the case with my engine. so next step would be a visual inspection. which i do not have the means too...

The video posted by soul coughing sounds EXACTLY how my car sounds. I just replaced the timing chain tensioner because I was hoping that was all the noise was....but no luck its still there. I have a 02 as well....Whats the easiest way to see if my car had the oil jet recall? Or whatever it was...lol. It feels like my car has lost a good bit of power....just drove it down the street and back because ive been scared to drive it because of that noise. Thanks for any help in advance!

i agree with billman... sounds very similar to my car... that had a scuffed bore...

There are vids of my car on here as well... with the same noise... if you don't mind the noise... and dont go WOT, you can keep the car running like this for a while... just check oil consumption
I garee with both these guys my car made the same noise also and it's an 01 so with the early oil jet bolts. I to had a scorned #4 cylinder

well, my noise is far more quiet and inconsistent then the one posted in soul coughing's video. so i'm not convinced. but i guess the only way to find out for sure is to have the tech look at in. oh well.
