Engine swap -- MY2004 into a 2000?
#12
I expect you can swap long blocks and rev to 9K quite happily.
Remember that Honda's safety envelope has to be much tighter than an aftermarket job. And it's not like you will have warranty anyway.

Head and block damage to my MY2000 engine. Looking at a number of different options including MY04 engine swap.
Ultimate Lurker / xViper ... what do you recommend?

Go for it. I'd keep the revs down a bit to protect the stock rods though. Or you could spend a little extra and upgrade the rods and rod bolts (at a minimum the latter).
Currently revving a 2.0 liter to 10k with new rods....more to come.

Not exactly sure how it happened, but a coil and plug disintegrated ... with bits of both apparently dropping down into the head. Modern Garage has never seen anything like it.
I'm considering a number of different options ... since I need to spend $$, I figure I might as well do some upgrades at the same time.
I was hoping for a bit more insight from this forum, but alas ... S2KI is not like it use to be.
