So the weather allowed me to drive the S today, and I was able to confirm that I was pushing the car when it was at two bars, not three. I was also able to get an idea of how much around town driving I needed to do to get to normal operating temperature. A little more than I had thought. Lesson learned. SheDrivesit...what you were describing to test the situation was exactly how I noticed the problem...slowly climbing the revs up and then getting that surge at around 6.5k. Thanks in particular for the last three posts.
