My S2000's are new to me and this message board... but I am having some concerns... This is the second S2000 that I have owned in the past year or so. The first one I had was modified so I figured maybe there was an issue there. But the second S2000 I bought is as stock as can be.
The problem I am experiencing is when starting from a stand still and accelerating hard, the car seems to either "stall" at the higher RPM or "pop" out of gear at about 7k RPM's. Neither of these explainations are actually happening though... If I shift into the next gear, the car runs fine again.... Has anyone experienced this problem before? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

How cold is the engine? There's a cutoff to protect the engine (head gasket, to be specific) prior to warm-up. It's there to protect against folks who don't heed the warnings about warming the engine first before winding the engine out. It's a rev limiter action, not mechanical.
