If I owned a DBW I would set them on the loose side for sure. I agree with that.
All depends on the tune of the engine honestly.

The R18 engine found in the 8th gen Civic and HRV can go 500k without needing any adjustment, yet the K-series engine in Accords/CRV's have SUPER tight exhaust valves causing the engine to misfire even after ~60-70k miles.

The AP1 and non-DBW AP2 almost never need adjusting, same cannot be said for the DBW AP2 as we know.
