Default Engine Removal Write up?

Im looking for a guide to removing the engine, im not sure if any members on here have made a write up on doing so.

If not anyone with experience who has some helpfull hints or suggestions wants to chime with some advice that would be great.

I'll give ya a write up: DON'T DO IT!

I'm about a 1/3 of the way through it and it's a serious PITA.

You have to remove the transmission, so you have to remove the drive shaft etc. I can't believe that to remove and engine I'm disconnecting the diff.

My original intention was to pull the head first then pull the block out. But it is so hard to get the intake manifold off whilst the engine is in the car I've decided to pull the engine and intake manifold intact.

I heard it was not that much fun to do but I have heard you can get it out in 5 hours or so.

So you have to remove the tranny first? You cant just drop the engine and trans out at once?

Probably, but you still have to disconnect the diff and you're going to have to separate the engine and tranny anyway.

Also, I'm doing it in my garage with the car on jack stands so I don't have too much clearance.

why dont' you download the service manual, i believe it tells you how to remove the engine.

i don't think you have to disconnect the diff, if i remember correctly...

I have the Electronic Service Manual. It says "See Tranny Removal" which says disconnect prop shaft from diff.

i just read the service manual, and you don't have to do anything with the differential to remove the engine...
