engine rebuild kits
does anyone sell a complete engine overhaul kit? Looking for rings, bearings, gaskets, etc. oil pump? water pump? I searched and found all of the "better" parts dealers, but im wondering if anyone has just a kit that i can get everything (or most everything) all in one shot.
i took my car (my2005 - just shy of 64000miles) which has a CPO warranty to the dealer for smoke and lumpy idle, and they said it needs a new engine (they verified the compression results i found too, 170, 210, 210, 150.
i have a feeling its going to be an uphill battle to have it warrantied, even though i just bought the car. would just like to have my ducks in a row if i do end up having to rebuild it on my own.
thanks in advance!

64,000 miles and engine failure? That seems unlikely but then again it has happened before. Personally I would obtain a second opinion. How does the car run? Any mis-shifts/over revs? Keep a good eye on your oil level? These engines are pretty stout I would check with another shop before I'd let them tear the engine down. But hey if it's under warranty I suppose it wouldn't matter what they do lol. just my .2

Don't take their c**p if they try not to warranty it.
They are going to blame owner abuse or something, but keep up with them as long as it takes. Thats part of the reason the CPO cars are a little more expensive is that if something goes wrong you are able to get it taken care of under warranty (be it the powertrain or bumper-to-bumper).

Thats what i said. I have only put 800 miles on the car. I can count on my fingers how many times its gone over 7000rpms... let alone overrevving. All i know is when the PO changed the oil, not whether or not it was ever low.
here was my next attempt at getting more info. you probably dont get to see this much
