And I also have adaptors to use the water lines for the oil cooler/heater for the turbo.

All plumbed up (except new oil return). Found a hole in one of my wastegate vacuum lines too but I suspect it was caused by the excessive heat during the overheat.

Electrical problems fixed too.

Removing the oil warmer/cooler really frees up space down there.

Sorry to resurrect a 2.5 year old thread but I finally got around to pulling down the old engine on the weekend. Seems every piston had ring damaged. Cracked top rings in all cylinders.

Cylinders have some scratching but nothing too deep.

I am going to buy some Woessner oversize (87.5mm) pistons and have the block bored and honed to take them. Stay tuned.

That was an interesting thread. Thanks for taking all of those pictures. What psi at this point do you think it took to shred those rings? Also, how'd that other motor turn out?

Ralleh - the boost controller was not functioning so it was overboosting to 23psi on a stock engine. The engine I built is rock solid but the tuning was out causing me to blow a couple of head gaskets. It's fine now and runs like a dream but it is a reminder to rebuild the one now.
