I also asked them if they checked the oil level since my 3K miles were up at this point! They said it was a quart and a half low.
I don't know if you are aware, but the owners manual says to check the oil level at every fillup. The oil level should be checked at least every other fillup or 300-400 miles at least. This car is a high compression, high reving sports car that needs a little bit of TLC

BTW, your lucky it wasn't like 2 1/2 or 3 1/2 quarts down.

And since our valves are self adjusting they said my car wouldn't need it until about 105K miles.
Self adjusting valves?

You mean you didn't pay the extra $1000 to have this option?

That's what they said....That our valves self adjust! I am just quoting what the dealership said when she looked it up on the computer. Don't take my word for it. I wasn't aware of it!

No, they are not self adjusting. We do not have hydraulic lifters. Those are self adjusting to an extent.

Could it be a heat shield?

If a small piece of debris breaks loose from the engine, it could rattle around at the front of your catalytic converter. It would likely not rattle around at higher RPMs because the pressure would force the object to stay in one place. This is unlikely, but I've seen it happen several times on other vehicles.

The substrate in our converters is metal foil, and not ceramic. If this is your problem, over time you will notice some performance loss due to lack of gas flow.

You could ask Honda to pay particular attention to noises from the converter. If this turns out to be the problem, I recommend getting them to replace it under warranty.

Did you check your strikers inside the car for the top. Sometimes mine rattle like crazy and I thought it was coming from the engine bay.

Well, I have a rattle problem of my own, but it's difference from yours. First off, you know how the car shake when you're coming to a stop and forgot the put it in neutral(right before it stalls). Well, it happen to me when i'm coming a stop, and all of the sudden, the car vibrates. I thought, crap, I forgot to put it in neutral. I quickly put my hand on the shifter,....and then wait...it is on neutral. It only vibrate like it's about to stall, but it didn't stall. Happen to me about 3 times now, so it's something rare. Any ideas?

Blue,

I wrote a post today 2/24/05 on what happend to my valves, I never had a rattle sound, The whole engine block would shake like a cartoon. Is your CEL blinking? Are you getting codes at all? Misfire?

Another thing is that my car would do is idle at different points, sometimes it would idle at 1-2 bars... sometimes it would at 4-5..

I was also a quart low on oil but even after filling it up to H, It did not change the issue..
