Default engine question need some help

Just found out my oil cap was left off from my last oil change. Started smelling oil from the engine. Dealership (very nice) is cleaning the engine and replacing the hood insulation. The oil change was done about 30 days ago and i had driven 160 miles. I have no reason to think I have engine damage, but I just don't know. I only have 8900 miles on my '03. Can running the engine 160 miles for 30 days without the cap hurt anything. Other than throwing oil all over the engine compartment. If anyone can help? Thanks

What you REALLY need to answer for yourself is:
"How low did the oil level get?"
It's not how far you drove or how long you left the cap off. It's how much oil did you lose during that interval and only you can answer that one. If you didn't lose more than a couple of qts AND you didn't drive it like a madman, then you should be OK. If you lost more than this, then time will tell.

ps. You've posted this thread twice. I've deleted the other one.

30 days is a long time to drive without looking at your engine. I probably look at it at least once a week. hope everything is alright?

btw, who changed your oil and forgot to put the cap back on? This
is downright criminal. i'd sue whoever did that. they must be doing alot of narcotics.
