Out of approximately 350 S2000s, I have NEVER found a single tight valve.

Unless the valves were tampered with before and done improperly, that is not the problem.
When MY03 was new I had multiple random misfires. I took it the dealership a few times. First they blamed gas, then they started swapping plugs and coil packs, finally a compression and leakdown test. They told me it was "valve lash" which they explained was the valves being too tight. After 2 valve adjustments they problem was cured and has not returned in about 4 years. The first vavle adjustment was done incorrectly and they said the exhaust vavles were still too tight.
I suppose it is possible that I was blatantly lied to. If I had to take in one more time for the same misfire problem I could have cried lemon law here in California. So I guess anything is possible. At any rate according to Honda I was a recurring multiple random misfire caused by valves too tight straight from the factory. All the paperwork from the dealer reflects what I was being told (then again, I guess it would have to) about the problem and work done to correct it. I actually had one tech say they had seen it before on S2000's and CR-V's of all things. Now based on what you say I'm not very inclined to believe it, and think it's more likely they were just "shining me on".
I have no idea, but wanted to share what I was told at least.

EDIT: I take it back it has only been about 3 yrs since the last occurence. Also I remember when I took it back the last time after almost a year without a problem is when I was told by one tech (not the one that did the work) that the valves on the S2000's and CR-V's actually like to tighten on their own. Seems more like an excuse the more I think about it. Also another tech (also not the one that did the work) on the same visit simply confessed he thought the original valve adjustment was done incorrectly.

Had a misfire on 2. Swapped the plug and it went a way... for a while. Swapped coil packs around and new plugs. Went away.... for a while.

Swapped injectors. Went away, for a while.

Did a valve adjustment. No change.

Did a leak down test and results were bad.

Currently rebuilding a second block. Transplant in the next week or so.

make them replace your engine if it fails compression test thats bull. I would be knocking on the owners door trying to get a new engine. Theres no way to fix low compression. honda will cover the engine for sure.

they wanted to do plugs for 120, but needed to order them. i stopped and got some NGK laser platinums and swapped em out,
That does seem high. I think the plugs by themselves are less than $60.00. You should get the OEM NGK's.

someone earlier mentioned the lemon law. Just to set it straight you have to visit a dealer 6 times for the same exact problem with no progress being made to be eligable for the lemon law

Actually in CA it is "more than two attempts".
Song Beverly consumer warranty act.
http://ag.ca.gov/consumers/general/lemon.php
read paragraph B.
Also special consideration can be made if it is a safety system that has the problem. eg. Brakes, seat belts, airbags.

So, it's not 6 attempts by any stretch. The number of attempts required without it involving a safety system is 4 within 18 months. I have actually heard of cars being replaced in the 3 attempts without safety being an issue.
