Here is an other proof that my engine is not running in normal conditions...
I recorded an other S2000 of a friend of mine.
I used the same recording technique to compare the 2 sounds.
Here is the "normal" s2000 sound :

actually now that i think about it, I do not have the same noise. I located my noise to the rear of my car, and it is most likely just an exhaust rattle, or maybe something is rattling because i did not put back the metal piece that goes across the stock exhaust. check the rear of your car near the mufflers to see if that is where the noise is coming from.

Yeah, i'd have to say your engine is about toast, or very near to failure...
That sound could be:
-The pistons hitting the cylinder walls (Due to damaged rings)
-One of your bearings is about to die. (oil starvation, or over-rev?)
-Valve or valve retainer damage. (Over Rev inducing valve float, resulting in valve impact (s) to the upstroking pistions.)
Things to check and do:
-Do a compression check. (All should be about 228 PSI, +/- 28PSI @ TDC)
-Do a valve train inspection and look for cracked or bent retainers / valves.
-Hunt for the sounds location with a stethoscope.
-Keep in mind that if any of the above is the cause, you may see very fine metal shavings (Almost like silver dust) within your oil. Drain your oil into a pan and then run a magnet thru it. If you have and metal shavings / particles, it will become readily apparent.
-As a last resort you can take the bottom off your oil pan and check the cylinder walls for wear.
Untill you verify this... DO NOT DRIVE YOUR CAR!
BTW: Did you contact your dealer or service provider about this?

I've called my Honda dealer and they can't look at it up to 25th.
So they will look at it the 26th.
Yesterday I went to the garage and asked about the problem.
After hearing the noise, the mecanics says it's not a bearing or piston problem. I would have ed up the engine a long time ago if it was that.
It seems to come from the upper side of the engine which could announce a valve or surounding stuff problem.
He told me to change from oil and get one more fluid.
So I changed my 10W40 for a 0W30.
The engine is runing better (less noise) but I still have the "tac tac" problem.
I'll keep you up to date as soon as I know.

I had the diag of the Honda mechanics !
Sorry but I only know the french word.... the problem is coming from one of these "culbuteur". In english I think it's the "Tripper device".
We know that the problem is coming from this side, but we don't know yet the why and how until they pull this up appart.
The good news is that I can drive without any danger and it will not get worse.
They will fix it when I'll be back from holidays.
I'll keep all of you informed.

I looked up the translation, and a culbuteur is a rocker, or rocker arm. If this is the case, I'm not convinced that you don't have a problem.
It might be as simple as needing a valve adjustment, but a bent valve can cause this tapping noise. You might want to take it easy until the mechanic looks inside.

If this is a bent valve problem, don't you think that the noise should become worse when the engine's hot ?
I'll drive carefully 'till they fix it.

Can you fix the links to this noise? I have an odd higher pitched noise that comes and goes at idle like a socket is in my engine bay somewhere (no there isn't one).
