Default Engine popping after a wash

This has happened to me a few times always after
washing my car.

I wash my car with a high pressure hose attachment outside
my garage and when I am done I start the car and back it into the garage so I can dry it away from the sun.

2 Days later I try to drive my car, it starts no problem but
when I try to give it some gas it is like the brakes are on,
there is absolutely no forward motion, after a couple of minutes and revving to about 5000 rpm the engine 'pops'
quite loudly and I am able to drive away.

My theory is that when I am cleaning the tail pipes some
water accidentally gets far up there, but I do not know
the consequences of this.

Has anyone else experienced this problem or might have
an explanation as to what is happening,

thanks,

John.

It's the brake rotors rusting to the brake pads. A good way to prevent this is to drive the car around the block, using the brakes alot. This will get them warm enough to dry them out.

Yep, what he said. Just use the brakes a little before you put her away and you won't see this prob any more.

Ok this car is getting fugly! I hate to say it but......the blue looks like a cross between blue and silver. Ungly! Then I really hope that those tweeters were aftermarket!

As for the rear window! OMG YUCK! I will stick with my plastic one for now. That is cutting the window down to a friggen port hole!

Try moving the water hose out of the way before you try to pull the stook back out. Since our car is so low to the ground even water houses can obstruct tires.

it's the brakes for sure, I will have the same problem after a heavy rain storm or if the car has set out for a few days and it has rained...no worries....rotors rust really fast on these cars...you can actually watch it happen while you wash the car...

Rotor Lock for sure. When your all done drying her off out take her for a quick spin.....and no more problem.
