Engine Oil for S2000
I have just had my 2002 S2000 in for its first oil change at 3000 miles. I have always been a big user of full synthetic oil however the Honda Tech at the dealership was not a big proponent of it (went into the old argument that it can be hard on seals). I have asked several others whose answers run from straight conventional to full synthetic. This time I hedged and used Castrol Syntec Blend. I have seen numerous responses from individuals using Mobil 1, Amsoil, Etc. Does anyone have any info on Honda's thoughts (other than the owners manual) or helpful insights/recommendations?

Read this thread and Honda's "update" on what they think:

Opinions on oil are as varied as opinions on toilet paper. The consensus I believe is to use conventional for the first 7k miles and then switch to whatever makes you happy. The fact is that synthetic can go longer between changes and can leave fewer deposits- it depends on how you drive and your change intervals, though, as to whether it will really provide any benefit.
