Engine not starting

Ehhh... really? You want us to troubleshoot it and that's all you give us? Has it ever started since you bought it? Have you ever seen it run? What type of damage does it have?
It could be anything from:
- you're trying to turn the key to start it, because you don't realize you have to press the start button, or
- you're not pressing in the clutch when you press the start button
to
- there is no battery installed, or
- the main ground is not connected
So, tell us more. Answer the questions at the top, then tell us:
- does the instrument panel light up when you turn the key to "On"?
- are there any sounds (clicks, beeps, etc) when you press the start button?
We're going to need a lot more information than what you provided in your original post. Or, you should just sell the car.

I'd say you need to speak with the seller and determine what else might have been damaged/disconnected/repaired.
If you were at least getting a "click", I'd say it might be the main ground on the back of the head. Do the JDM S2000s have the Immobilizer? I don't think so, but if they do, I'd suspect that.
I'm not sure what else to tell you.

It was shipped from Japan to the UK? How long did that take? Do you have a known good battery you can put in the car? One suspect would be a very low battery charge; it's simple to eliminate if you can take a battery from a car that does start.
